Oops. Didn't mean to take a 2-hour lunch, but did. Andy came by and we went and ate mountains of Greek food and then gawked at a fire on Clark (it's still burning).

He brought me a T-shirt from work. It's large and black and looks basically like this on the front:

I inadvertently took a 2 hour lunch as well. Chez Nick was packed to its Westmounc chi-chi gills, and Calories was the epitome of molasses-like service. What is WITH restaurant service these days? Can't remember the last time I was satisfied with the wait staff.

I went to Guido & Angelina last night and was highly unimpressed:

- clueless staff at takeout counter attempted to charge me twice; did not, however, ask if I wanted drinks or dessert to go with my pizza, or give me a chance to ask
- no handles on the taps in the washroom! (and no, they didn't have automatic sensors)
- I got an eyeroll when I asked for water

Yeah. What's with them?

I had great G& A service the first time I went, then again is was opening week, so they were crawling all over eachother trying to impress the folks at the tables.

Haven't been there since, sorry to hear you had such a 'blah' experience.

Oh, wait, I'm a liar: I go back to G&A's takeout counter every now and then when I need a really yummy pasta fix!
