electricland: (don't panic)

I feel better now. Despite the fact that I am still at work making PowerPoint slides, things have improved, as follows:

- Turns out I misread that poll. It was running ~90% AGAINST amending the constitution. Phew.
- Rescheduled conference call (it's a long, painful story which I will share some other time, but friends-locked as it's all work-related) went well this evening. Really well, all things considered. Yes, we have to get the slides to the client by noon tomorrow, but it still went well.
- Help on this project!
- Lots of people have been telling me it's Not My Fault, and to stop worrying.

Things that improved my life last night, although I won't get much use out of 'em tonight:

- I bought a CD player! Finally! Well, really it's a DVD player but at present it's hooked up to my stereo. I'll deal with the fancy hardware required to make it talk to my antiquated TV later.
- I bought the last Jennifer Crusie, the one that's now out in paperback. They're my comfort books.
- Nice long chat with [livejournal.com profile] raithen.

And L is coming in tomorrow night, yay! Now, granted I may have to work part of the weekend (oh please God let it not be so), but this is a Good Thing.

Right, back to work.

Let me know how the latest Crusie book is - I almost picked it up the other day but restrained myself. I'm trying to only buy books tat will take me longer than 3 hours to read. But she's so much fun!

Mom thoroughly enjoyed the latest Crusie in Paperback. I haven't gotten there yet.

Reading 12 things at once, and MUST. READ. Foaling book and Imprint training book, ASAP. JJ will wait for no woman! :D. I should be reading Imprint Training right now.

Glad to hear things are looking up! Stay CALM!

Lately I have been reading the hardcovers in the bookstore, and buying only the paperbacks (last night's purchase was Faking It -- which I nearly bought in hardcover, actually, because the heroine's name is Tilda and she has a long-haired dachshund, and my cousin has a long-haired dachshund named Tilde -- you know, karma). *blush* But, y'know, I bought two of 'em in hardcover 'cause I couldn't wait, so I figure I'm owed a little bit of a free ride for that.

LOVED the latest hardcover (Bet Me, read in Chapters on Sunday). Loved. It. (Although, see Monday's entry for a report on the resulting angst -- not her fault though.)

Wow. Am I always this incoherent?

are you sure?

Turns out I misread that poll. It was running ~90% AGAINST amending the constitution. Phew.
The poll asked: which means ~90% voted Yes, to amend it.

Or am I missing something? *perplexed look* (This poll doesn't mean anything in the greater scheme of things, but if I've read it right, it's rather worrying if out of 300,000+ votes, more than 270,000 are in favor of a constitutional amendment.) :-/
