Wahoo!

Which Endless are you?

brought to you by Quizilla

"Death, the second of The Endless, you are responsible for ending all lives and taking them to your realm, from which no one ever returns. You are bright, positive, happy, optimistic and enjoy everything about life, but that does not mean you're silly or stupid. You can lay the smack down when you have to! Everyone loves you, and they don't know why. "

Yeah, not sure how true that is, but most of my answers split pretty evenly between the various Endless and I guess I got lucky. (I said I'd mope and cry if someone I was close to hurt me. Go figure.)

OK, really have to go home now.

Yippee for American Thanksgiving!

It's marvellously quiet around here because all our clients are at home eating turkey. Happy happy day. The downside is, I have a project I should be getting down to work on, but I hate it so much I'm very reluctant to go near it.

Upside: Mauro says the case studies on the monster project are nearly all fixed. I shall check them when they're completely fixed. Wish we'd sat down to work out all the parameters MONTHS ago... then we wouldn't have been in such a last-minute panic. I'm learning so much about my job from this project!

Pasted rant from email to Jen: Failed to do yoga this morning (but 3 for 4 on the week) and then got all irate reading the story about the Jocelyn Hotte trial (in case you haven't heard about this, he's an RCMP officer who killed his ex-girlfriend and wounded 3 other guys with his service revolver on the freeway last June -- his defence appears to be "I was stressed out of my mind, I got tear-gassed twice in Quebec City, and my sister died of cancer when I was 10 -- oh, and my ex had a sexual hold over me"). I particularly liked the statistic his lawyers presented: he's apparently taking 360 pills a month to deal with his depression and stress. Gosh! 360 pills! Well that works out to 6 pills a day. I'm sorry, my grandmother takes at least 6 pills a day and you don't see her going out and killing people.

Oh goody, the comics.com site is back up (it was down this morning, so I was deprived of my Frazz, Jane's World and 9 Chickweed Lane fixes). That's better.

I was going to go all hyperbolic but then I remembered that yes, there are in fact tasks more mind-numbingly boring than archiving source files. Thank God so few of them come my way any more.

Project is in QA, yaaay! I'm really happy with how it's turned out. Now the client darn well better be too.

All right! Finally got this page looking the way I want it. Well, insofar as is possible. There has to be a better way of picking your colours than setting up a table in Dreamweaver and toggling back and forth between that and the Modify Journal page, but I couldn't think of one. (Also, it would be really nice if the designers of the various themes had chosen ONE item as the "journal entries go here" background and font colour. As it is they seem to be fairly random, so even if you like your colour scheme, you have to move everything around if you decide to change layouts. Grrr usability nightmare grrr.) Ah well.

Pretty nice, huh? I believe I'll be keeping this one. It's too exhausting rushing around trying to fiddle with it, and besides, I like it.

And that was some pretty damn pathetic judging. Jeez. The perils of procrastination... I'll have to start much earlier tomorrow and not frell around with my LJ until the wee hours. On the plus side, I guess the entries will be fresh in my mind.

But I do have to wonder, why submit a PDF to an online competition? I mean, yeah, it has a few things you can't do with print -- like links -- but not a lot else, and even some of the Acrobat-specific choices they did make were incredibly irritating. And why the nonstandard page size? Mysteries, mysteries. At least the content was good. Mostly.

Darn it, the "full" mode is refusing to cooperate. Insert red-eyed automaton icon here. Good night...
