(no subject)

There's a 4-alarm fire burning on the next block. I heard about it on the radio this morning and wasn't sure whether to be hopeful or afraid that it was this building (meaning I wouldn't have to go to work, but would be way behind and/or suffer irreparable losses of information and notes).

Anyway it's been going since about 6 a.m. and there's still billowing smoke and lots of firefighters. The lamp standard closest to the building is one solid icicle. Quite dramatic, yet we all sit around working as usual... what else are ya gonna do, really?

I think I'm getting sick.

Yeah, this sounds about right.
