Iced tea

I haven't really cooked since I got back from vacation, although I've made salad AND washed my dishes TWO NIGHTS RUNNING. Feels good. Another 19 days of this and I'll have a habit.

However, here, for [livejournal.com profile] raithen and anyone else suffering a heatwave (not me alas), is a recipe for the most incredible iced tea I've ever tasted. It comes courtesy of my friend Kelly and I made it on Tuesday night.

Steep the following for 5 minutes:
  • 6 teabags (I used Twining's Earl Grey)

  • 3 cups hot water

  • 3 cinnamon sticks

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp ground clove
Remove the teabags and cinnamon sticks. Add:
  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 2 lemons' worth)
Refrigerate. Dilute to taste with about 1 part water to 2 parts tea mixture; serve over lots of ice.
