shopping frenzy

I swear I was only looking for cross-trainers. However, Winners is either (a) my new best friend or (b) evil or possibly (c) both. Last night I bought:

• 1 pair pink-and-brown-and-purple-and-beige-striped stretch corduroy pants


• 1 pair Avia running shoes


• 2 fuzzy cushions (as part of my continuing mission to completely bury my futon in cushions -- I'm still trying to decide if they go with the cushions already in residence)


• moving on upstairs to Indigo, I also bought: Perdido Street Station, China Miéville (finally out in paperback)


• A Little More About Me, Pam Houston (on sale!)


• Calculating God, Robert J. Sawyer

I'm wearing the pants now. They are uber-comfy and have been much admired (running around saying "Look! I bought new pants!" may have had something to do with this).

Haven't heard from raithen lately. I'm assuming everything's OK, however, because the news continues good from Kelowna. Hopefully it just means she was able to relax with the horses away from the computer yesterday.

crazed proofreader girl strikes again

I think I scare my freelancer.

I'm not trying to, honest... but he seems to make mistakes when I'm around. He was making a list of images to check from the copy I was holding, and it was supposed to be 2.5.2b and he wrote down 2.4.2b... so I said "Deux cinq deux."

He went over the second 2 again.

"Deux cinq deux."

The first 2.

"CINQ!!"

"Ah!"
