Dateline: Dorval

My grand plan to tidy my apartment, pack in good time, and get to sleep early didn't work out (surprise surprise). But I got a fair chunk of stuff done -- returned my library books, got my accounts up to date, booked a dentist appointment, handed in my rent counter-offer (landlord, clearly not wanting to go to court, faxed us all last Thursday with a request that we agree to a 6 1/2% increase, which "seems more than fair in light of all the work that has gone into the building". He gave us until Monday, which you will recall was a holiday, to consider the matter. I therefore ignored it. Got a phone call from Kathy the superintendent this Thursday night saying "you can still hand it in -- cross off the suggested increase and put in your own if you want." So I thought about it and suggested 3%. We'll see. If he doesn't like that, my Regie hearing is booked for the 10th) and, of course, packed. Most of my luggage is books; the rest is mostly Scotland photos and my hard hat, which is not a simple item to pack. And my time is running out! Seeya!
