House update: Weekend
Apr. 23rd, 2006 06:35 pmYesterday's report from my aunt:
Jen and I put a second coat of paint on the kitchen walls, then assembled some kitchen cabinets. Am not altogether sure what I planned to put my microwave in or where it is. Jen and I spent some time hunting for her kitchen cabinets in the basement -- she has more of them than I do and they seem to have ended up in some very strange places. I think she's going to have to track them all down and tag them with their intended location. Then if anything else is left over, it might be my microwave cabinet! Or, you know, not.
Mummy primed my 3rd floor bathroom.
I managed to pop the button off my cargo pants of doooom while wrestling with cabinets, but sewed it back on.
We all froze because the thermostat was set at 13.5°C and I didn't notice until an hour before it was time to go home.
Jen reorganized things on the first floor so that William can come and do things tomorrow.
And I printed out my taxes and now must mail them in. I think I've finally eluded Revenue Canada completely by moving out of my apartment and not bothering to forward my mail. Time to start all over again.
Now I wish to go and eat cake.
Today for lunch, Gill, Robin, Jen, John, Mike and I had all-day breakfast.Today I am reminded of the eternal motto of home renovation: "Everything takes longer than you think it's going to."
Gill put down a whole bunch of protective floor covering --- alllll right!
Robin began painting her kitchen. When she opened up her cans of Pot Pourri green, it was purple. Jen went to Rona and changed the paint.
Jen did some floor in the first floor and then helped Rob paint in green, not purple, which, to my taste, would be totally offputting in a kitchen.
John did wiring
The pyramid of paint in our kitchen dining room is getting lower.
