Well, I'm all moved over to my new desk, with mountain view and 18-inch monitor (score!) and cubicle walls and space and stuff, and the same computer I started out the day with (which means, hallelujah, not only do I still have Photoshop and my unlicensed copy of Dreamweaver MX and all that good stuff, I don't need to spend a day undoing all the annoying Microsoft defaults and downloading and installing crap various little things I'm eventually going to need).

I am unpacked, I bought cake for the team, I mystified half the company by sending out a goodbye email before I left my old desk. Life is good... except for the bit where I should have spent the day working on a super-tight deadline script that I should NEVER have accepted, given all my other commitments. You know the reviewer isn't happy with your earlier effort when it comes back completely redlined and in 24-point Times New Roman... or maybe it's just me.

And I'm rusty, dammit! I didn't realize how much. (It probably doesn't help that I'm somewhat fried from spending the weekend driving to Toronto and back, and also to Oshawa and back, if that makes sense.)

But I'll get back into it. And ms. raithen sent more pictures of ms. JJ, who is adorable. And I met ms. evilgoddss and several of her evil cohorts on Saturday, including Lucky, and that was cool (if occasionally weird). Hi, all! Thanks again!

you know, for a second there i got scared.. when you posted that it was the last day at your old job, and then mentioned going to Toronto, I thought that maybe you were heading back there permanently already!! course, i knew you wouldn't do that without letting people throw you a huge going away thingy..

yay for huge monitors!
