Hm. That was a longer time away than I planned. If anything earth-shattering has happened to you over the last 3 weeks (or, hell, just anything you think I should know about) please comment, 'cause I'm just not going to look through that many Friends pages. I didn't think I could actually go this long without LJ, but I have been busy with other stuff. So, in no particular order...

1. I don't have TB. It's official. I know you were all worried.
2. After all that, I actually found my little yellow immunization record cards (I was anal enough at 23 to file them, and they're still where I put them). Of course, that was the day after I went to the doctor and discovered they still hadn't looked for my file, so she took some of my blood to see if I had measles and rubella antibodies. Ick.
3. Spent a little time at the cottage doing nothing. It was lovely. Tilde behaved herself quite well, except for when anyone set foot on the property, when she turned into a raving maniac. Watched the Olympics in the evenings until my eyeballs turned square.
4. I'm moved out and my apartment is clean, largely due to [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl's efforts (she moved my fridge to mop the floor under it. I repeat: SHE MOVED MY FRIDGE!).
5. Still no word from the landlord, so I'm going to send back my keys with a registered letter and a bright smile and hope for the best.
6. I have an Ontario driver's licence now. A full one! I cleverly bypassed the graduated licencing system!
7. My car needs a small fortune in repairs if I'm to get it licenced here, so I don't think I will. Sigh. Alas, poor car.
8. I haven't started looking for an apartment yet, but I have a cellphone. Does that count?
9. I stopped by the library after dinner with [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl this evening and had a lovely time ordering all the books I could think of at that precise moment. Librarygasm. Boooookssssssss! Boooksss, preciousss! And they have an online catalogue so you can order books whenever it occurs to you (OK, if you're at a computer, anyway).
10. The air quality in this city is appalling, but on the plus side my allergies are much better now that I'm using a different pillow and my mother got rid of some of the mildew on the ceiling above my bed (long story).

Oh, and of course the job! It's cool. I have been doing orientation and training things all week. I'm way more impressed than I probably need to be with my hospital ID card (it has emergency codes printed on the back of it! Being me, I have already read the entire Code Orange (external disaster) plan -- it's detailed as all hell. How does one become a disaster planner?).

I'm sharing a smallish office with two other people doing essentially the same thing as me but in different subject areas -- one male, one female. They're both nice, which is a relief. The male started on the same day as me and the female started two weeks earlier, hence we are all newbies and all figuring stuff out at the same time, which is good. Our boss is on vacation and everyone else is pretty busy, so it looks as though we'll be left more or less alone to get on with the job. I've been madly intimidated by the computer use policy, so you probably won't see too many updates from work (at least until I become blase).

What else? I'm working on developing an epilepsy subsite. We use Canadian spelling (whee!). I'm starting to be able to find my way around the hospital, although it ain't always easy. There's a great falafel place near work. I've been staggering around like a zombie due to interrupted sleep patterns but I think I'm getting back to normal. I miss Montreal quite a bit, but surprisingly enough, I haven't yet had the dissolve into tears I was expecting.

That's all for now, I guess...

See? It all falls into place. Glad to hear you're doing well :)

As for earth-shattering: I met Terry at the DiscCon and he signed my turtle tattoo. I'm still recovering from the intense teenage dribbling experience. *giggle*

yay for fun new jobs!

I ended things with the girl.. that's the big news of the past three weeks. well, the big news was her cancelling on me left and right.. ugh. It's over and I'm relieved :). still a little angsty, but hell.. what can you do?

I took the 24 past your apartment building on Monday and realized, "awww.. Robin doesn't live there anymore!". It's odd.

:)

Yay on new jobness! Good luck finding a new apt.

Speaking of which, I just got moved in yesterday. Ow. Parts hurt that I didn't expect to hurt (i.e. - I expected my arms to kill me from the lifting and carrying. Nope - but my hamstrings are singing like Luciano Pavarrotti (sp?)

Welcome back to TO!

I understand, I do indeed!

It was kinda nifty. When my G2 was about to expire I switched it for a Quebec licence -- they don't have graduated licencing and I was over 25 so they gave me a full licence. ([livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl was quite indignant.) When I came back to Ontario they gave me a full licence because I'd had my Quebec licence for over 2 years.

I guess they figured I'd amassed enough experience. ;)

The hamstring thing is WEIRD! I had the same thing. Guess I know what they're for now. ;)

Thanks for the good wishes! HOpe the new apt works out! We'll have to get together now I'm in town -- there is no excuse any more.

Oh dear. I was afraid of that... but I'm sorry, 'cause she sounded really cool! Boo. Of course, a really cool girlfriend that you never see is only cool in theory.

I know just what you mean about seeing the outside of my apartment building -- same thing happened to me.

And I'm guessing you also meant "drive" not "frive". :P

Hey,

I'm just using the comment feature 'cause I don't have your email handy, and I thought you might get notification.

I won't be going to see SKy Captain tomorrow, because it's the 2 hour finale of THe Amzing Race, which S. and I have been watching somewhat faithfully.

So, obviously, feel free to go with those that are going, but also, you're invited over to our place to watch the AR finale. Starts at 9pm.

(Myself and S will likely aim to see SKy Captain on Friday).

Hope you're not still feeling "blue". Hahahahaha
