electriclandJust realized that I've finally managed to organize my working space so that it's possible to clean my desk in 2 minutes flat, even if it's apparently a hopeless mess. This makes me happy.
I'm getting stuff done, ever so slowly...
The big news, of course, is that I moved into my new apartment on Saturday (with the much-appreciated help of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
bryghtboy, punmeister, crankygrrl's little brother [aka Big D], pariah_ink, my uncle and my parents). I thought it was a wonderfully smooth move. The boys even put my TV stand together, and bryghtboy unpacked large chunks of my kitchen. They're good to have around, I tell ya.
Sunday my mother lined my kitchen shelves with shelf paper for which I shall be forever grateful ('cause it had to be done, but I didn't wanna), and cousin J helped me put away my clothes. So I still have a living room full of boxes and not much else, but my bathroom and bedroom are habitable and my kitchen will be as soon as I unpack everything.
The only drawbacks to the place are the streetcars (I'm sure I'll get used to them in time) and the fact that the downstairs neighbour appears to be a smoker. You can't really tell except in the closets. I'll be getting some odour-absorbing stuff and some nice person (either my landlord or the former tenants) left a HEPA air purifier in the place, so I'll find new filters and all will be happy. It's noisy too, but I think I'll get earplugs.
And I'm busy every evening this week so I'm not altogether sure when all this is going to get done. Oh well.
(ETA: oh yeah. Got off the bus early and picked up my brand shiny new passport. I was surprised to see that they scan in the photo now -- it makes me look kind of green and fibrous, but if that's what they want, who am I to argue? "Yeah," the guy at the passport counter said, "it's full of new security features that I'm not allowed to talk about. Like the money.")
