Demon Project from Hell is out the door!
Nov. 29th, 2002 06:37 pmWoo hoo!
I hesitate to use the word "Gold" in relation to this project and client, because they always, always, always find something to change. But it's out the door. We changed everything they asked us to change. We made it look gorgeous. The case studies work, all except for a couple of minor itty bitty issues that are Quicktime's fault, not ours. I have high hopes. This thing has been with me since I started as a PM (ok, that means a whole 9 months, but still -- quite long). There have been a lot of frustrations along the way and a lot of things I would now do differently, like:
Problem is every project is different, so there will be new things to worry about and whole new levels of Things Going Wrong on the next one. But I do feel good about this.
This means I have next to nothing to do for the next three weeks, unless they come back with changes. Goody, time to fiddle with Demon Project from Hell B. Michel suggested I should take some time off next week. Sounds like a plan to me...

- Scream a lot louder when I think the interface looks like crap
- Scream a lot louder when the client decides to change the concept, the navigation, and the layout
- Pay a lot more attention to each individual page and its current status: do we have the graphics we need for this? OK, why not?
- Archive properly (OK, started doing this now)
- Not assume that things will work out fine eventually
