Took a couple of hits of my steroid inhaler this morning as a pre-emptive strike. So far so good. I'm never absolutely sure what my threshold should be, but I'm going for fairly aggressive at the moment -- if my chest feels tight, steroids it is, even if I'm not in active discomfort. It'll stop things getting worse later. Judging by the chewiness of the air downtown this morning, this was a good choice.

However, I think I've adopted the new warmer temperatures a little too enthusiastically. Sandals may have been a step too far -- my toes are cold. Oh well, it gave me an excuse to clean the ratty polish off my toenails. I'll go back into colder-weather clothes tomorrow.

(Cranky, yesterday: "My wardrobe is not equipped to handle 17-degree temperature changes!")

Signing house papers today!

Yay house!!

I am planning on painting my toenails after work today, just in time for tomorrow's 50 degree-two-pairs-of-socks weather :)

Sometimes, nicely polished toenails are all that keep me from despair at the grim weather. So it all works out. ;)

Hee. I spent yesterday on the couch on the back porch, and got a sunburn. It was lovely.

There was a smog alert this morning, so you were probably wise.

Ah! The day of the big cheque. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't one of those giant novelty cheques, like they present to charities and lottery winners. I mean, considering the figure.

inhalers

Stay on your inhalers. Consistently. I needn't tell miss YOU that they only do their jobs if you use them consistently. *stern look*

and YAY house! And *meep* house. And on the "only house news with other good news" rule: IT WILL soon be warm enough for sandals!! YAY!

It's gorgeous and sunny here today. I love that the silver lining to the crisis is that I get to work in my BEEEEYOOOTIFUL office with all the natural light. And I can see my horses out the window.

You are so right.

There were actually 2 cheques (one directly from the bank). J brought over a certified cheque for the rest of it. I gazed at it a while and caught myself thinking "Well, that's not that much," when in fact it was SIGNIFICANTLY MORE THAN A YEAR'S SALARY. Gah. I hope my sense of money perspective comes back soon.

In my defence, my doctor said to use this one when I thought I needed it! My asthma is really not that bad. (And I'd like it to stay that way.) But I'll definitely keep taking it on smog alert days.

YAY for gorgeous and sunny!

Not until tomorrow though! Today was signing papers and getting everything ready for the handover -- seems a little anticlimactic not to have all sorts of last-minute signing and whatnot, but there you go. Tomorrow the lawyer deposits the cheque and cuts another cheque to the seller (I think... it's confusing) and the seller hands over the key and we go over with champagne and electrician* and rip off the ugly green awning. J is quite determined.

*We don't actually need the electrician to rip off the awning or drink champagne, but we're having one anyway.

so....will the electrician also have champagne. because i'm thinking he/she will want some. best to make him wait until after he removes the awning thought. *veg*

i had the signing for my condo on a friday morning. the next day at 6am my neighbors came over and didn't leave until 2am on sunday. we painted, redid the bathroom fixtures, all the light fixtures. it was a worthwhile frenzy of activity. i hope you have fun with the process. *g*
