Long ago, my children, in the days before the dot-com boom and Enron, we had old-fashioned stock market scandals. In Canada, they were about gold mining. And Canada's favourite gold-mining scandal ever, the Bre-X affair, popped back into the news today: Michael de Guzman, disgraced geologist thought to have died in a fall from a plane, may be alive.
