My Left Ovary
May. 30th, 2005 11:54 am(I feel like I've been waiting to use that title for years.)
Anyway, I woke up this morning (earlier than I should've, because of a stupid bee that had found its way in my window and couldn't apparently find the way out again) to a fair amount of pain around about the left ovary. It freaked me out more than a little, because that's how my whole episode of gynaecological excitement started four years ago, and I really don't want to go through that again. However, I did a brief systems check and realized (a) no fever, (b) really no chance of infection, (c) appetite is fine, (d) no obvious signs of a fibroid popping up again, and (e) anyway, this has been happening fairly often around this time in my cycle. It's always the left ovary. Last time they reckoned it was a functional cyst, but since I'm on the pill I presumably shouldn't be ovulating, so I don't know what's going on.
Anyway, I took a shower and the pain is gone now, so I guess it's nothing serious. But should I give my doctor a call anyway?

... I think I'm giving my opinion to someone who is likely to have a more solid grip on the facts.
Call doctor, or call tele-health Ontario, who will tell you to call a doctor.
Most likely, there's a change in the weather coming.

Date: 2005-05-31 03:24 pm (UTC)If my left ovary did that, I would call a doctor.
Wait...
If I suddenly found that I had a left ovary, I would definitely call a doctor.
Cu,
Andrew
