I'm back!

I have just brushed my teeth for the first time in 36 hours. I always manage to forget something while packing and this time, MOST unfortunately, it was my toothbrush. And I was so good and packed my workout clothes and used them and everything. Plaque-fighting gum is NOT the same.

Trip went well (would be nice if the Air Canada baggage handlers could tell carousel 1 from carousel 2, but so it goes). Lots and lots of work to be done next week (the 37 documents are coming back! and they have to be all confirmed and done and out by the 19th!), but I got Inara and Michel to hire freelancers for me. I am NOT falling into this bloody trap of not having enough resources AGAIN.

Read a story in the Philadelphia Inquirer that almost caused me to go without breakfast... the Average American's views on whether or not to torture Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. If one goes by talk shows, the consensus appears to be a rousing "Yes!" Because, apparently, he might have information about future terrorist attacks, so that makes torture all OK. All I can say is (a) I don't believe any American I know feels that way; (b) like hell this is about preventing future terrorist attacks, torture is all about revenge and cruelty and don't try to tell me any different; (c) Al Morganti, whoever you are, your listeners are sick.

It's enough to make a girl stick to the entertainment section, it really is.
