Yeah, I'm taking at least a semester off from working so as to be writing. Hence, no income.

Incomes are overrated? Jobs definitely are, but incomes, well, I still like 'em. ;)

Mmm...it goes. Not particularly well...I'm very burned out. I'd probably be a lot happier if I didn't have to go to any more conferences. Actually, it's not so much the going, but the writing and presenting...I'm just sick of that. Aren't you glad you got out?

Actually, a CFP crossed my desk this week, and I am still debating an 11th hour submission. It would be an excuse to go to Toronto next spring. But....

And why must you do so many conferences? Couldn't you stop doing so many and focus on da diss?

You should go to Toronto next spring. I'll meet you there! No, really. I need to get up there soon, so, hey, if you're going to be there, I'll try to work it so I can, too. Then again, we could probably do that even without the excuse of a conference...because who needs excuses to visit TO!

I do conferences because I learn. And I get lines on my CV. And I network. And the job market sucks, so I need to keep networking and stuff. I do find them helpful, but shit, I'm just so tired. I think my last comp damaged my brain.

mmk. I'll throw in a paper proposal for CATTW at the Congress for SHRCC. You'd probably find an association to present with, too, because it's HUGE. All the main research associations meet the same week.... Next year, its at York. CATTW, my association, is meeting May 28-30....
