Nov. 17th, 2005 09:47 amMissed VM last night, so I hope
crankygrrl's demonic digital cable/VCR setup got it. I blame LJ, also the fact that it's bloody freezing out (literally, I'm going to have to dig out my winter coats somehow -- I hope they're in the house, not the storage boxes) and I didn't feel like trekking out to the Beaches just to sit on my own and watch TV. Maybe on the weekend I'll examine the situation and see if I can watch the tape.
Jen, Shan and I invented a reality TV series over the breakfast buffet Saturday in Vegas. Long story involving biscuits and gravy (it's as scary as Cranky says!), Shannie's mother, and every grocery item in Northern Ontario costing $5, but it would sort of be a competition to create the best meal plan from a given budget. We could pit kids against parents or families against families, and each team could have a dietitian coach, and they'd be judged on nutritional value and taste and perhaps whether the other team would actually eat it at the end of it. I think it's a winner. Anyone have any contacts at the Food Network?

Date: 2005-11-17 03:06 pm (UTC)My contact at Food is someone I try at all costs to avoid speaking to.
You interested in a short term Beach sublet? There's a vacancy in Thé's apartment starting in December. He lives down at the lake, right near woodbine (living room overlooks the park/boardwalk--right near Lakeshore + Woodbine/the Olympic pool.

I thought it might be you. Haven't seen you in an AGE! How are you and S, and how is the rapidly-becoming-less-wee one?

Date: 2005-11-17 05:00 pm (UTC)We were very sorry to hear about your grandmother. I just noticed your posting yesterday, then got tied up about e-condolence notes. She obviously has quite the living legacy.
I have been thinking about getting to gether with some Vegas voyagers, perhaps tonight, or over the weekend?

Date: 2005-11-17 05:23 pm (UTC)and thank you for the condolences; we will miss her a whole lot, but given that she was mostly hale and hearty right up until the age of 94 we can't really complain that she was taken from us untimely. And she would have HATED to decline the way Grandaddy did.
