Return of the House Report
Dec. 1st, 2005 06:47 pmMy aunt reports:
To all,It's true. The reciprocating saw is my new toy. As my uncle says, "One of our biggest problems is stopping people from giggling when they use the power tools."
Sorry for the hiatus in reports. I've been off swanning around with Sonia and working.
On the weekend, Jen and Rob worked on the house. Jen stripped paint and made it smell. Robin discovered the joys of the reciprocating saw and the crowbar and worked on the channel.
On Tuesday, God did not want Dennis to plumb. He went over to fix a small leak, forgot solder, bought solder, found he's run out of propane, went home for propane and then found that tank shot flames four feet into the air. He gave up. All is not lost. Below is his latest email.
"Unlike Tuesday, the Gods decided that today was a propitious one for plumbing. The last leak is apparently sealed. I suggested to Dan that the water be turned off except for the lead to the toilet. I suggest that you wait for a day when the forecast is for the temperature not to dip too far below zero and turn the water on for 24 hours for a final test. Dennis"
Wednesday, Dan and John worked on vapour barrier and drywall. Went to Home Depot for lumber for drywall and a new blade for the table saw, which has brought joy to John's heart.
Today, John wired pot lights and Dan worked on channel with many imprecations. Soon be ready for inspector.
Cheers all, Helen
