My aunt reports:
Today for lunch, Dan, John and I had Licks, the kitchen being
almost out of commission. (See below.)
Today, Dan drywalled the south wall of Robin's kitchen, William worked on
its valances and John installed sconces in Jen's bathroom.
Re: Our house. John was not at The House yesterday because
- the new cabinets for our kitchen were picked up Saturday and dismantling
of current cabinets started, no sink, etc.
- therefore the dining room is out of commission, being filled with
kitchen stuff
- so is most of the sunroom, being filled with new cabinets in large boxes
- three of us have a very, very bad cold
- in the midst of all this our water bed broke, this time irreparably, so
- we slept in Jen's room, Jen slept in living room
- John and I went to Ikea yesterday, which took only two hours
door-to-door, courtesy of advice from some who have considerable
experience there,
- took out old water bed and piled with some old cabinets and John and
Mike took to dump, and
- installed new bed, which is very comfortable.
Place is still a disaster. Maybe there's some cosmic levelling going on
here, with our house getting worse as The House gets better.
Cheers, Helen
