Well, except for the headache with the promise of worse to come. Why my upstairs neighbours picked this particular morning to play extra-loud music that turned my entire apartment into an echo chamber, I'm not quite sure. Malign fate, probably.

On thinking the matter over carefully I've decided I had a good time last night, and if I'd left maybe 2 songs earlier the drunken outburst of misery would probably not have happened. Feeling more than a bit silly about that now, but at least it was all in the comfort of my own home/journal.

Now, to try and get some work done.

Yeah. Sometimes it's just the booze.

I find when I have had a bad experience for with the bi-polar lager (the deep booze blues are usually preceded by a higher than usual booze giddy) it's best to swear off the stuff for a month or two.

Remember, you don't need to have a good time to drink. No wait--

Karaoke in our fair city?

Piqued curiousity! Where does an intrepid soul go for some all out melodic fun and humilation? I've been to this one 'private room' place, but that defeated the purpose of karaoke, really. Where's the exposure? :)

Too true! Without the chance to get things thrown at you by total strangers, where's the challenge? And, of course, the chance to hear the talents or otherwise of total stranges.

This was at le Swimming... it's not a regular thing though, they only do it once in a blue moon.

I have heard rumours of public karaoke, but I forget where. Hmmm.

le Swimming does karaoke?

Excellent! I was there two or three weeks ago for a 'What the Folk' show. Pigeon Hole (my favourite Montreal band by far) was scheduled to play but one of the 2 leads was ill. Phooey. I didn't know they hosted karaoke, it must be a fun atmosphere...just the right mix of dive and clean :)

It's right up the street from my office, so it's sort of the unofficial office watering hole.

And yes, it's a great place for karaoke — it helps that I'm almost guaranteed to know half the people in there of course — but unfortunately they don't do it very often. (Still, this perhaps increases the value we place on it!)

Bipolar lager, you say? Hmmmm.

I blame the shots, myself.
