Dear TTC: You suck.

(My father drove me to work this morning. I CAN walk to and from work if need be, although it's farther than I really enjoy. This is No Good for people with longer commutes, though. Or for our air quality.)

I'm very confused about the crux of the matter - especially now the Union is saying it's a lockout and not a strike.

Also? I am tired. And more than a bit sweaty.

I know, I can't follow it at all. None of the media outlets seem to know either. I'm in "plague on all your houses" mode, personally...

*sympathy* on the tired and sweaty. Blearg. I just checked my walking distance and work is only 3 km from my parents' house, so entirely doable... but blearg. Have a nice cold drink.

Wow. That is one rough-lookin' photo of Mayor Miller.

Zowie! That wasn't there the first time I looked at the story! I guess he's not a morning person...

Seriously. I like Mayor Miller, but in that photo, he looks like he wants to feast on my delicious brains, and it's freaking me out a bit.

Then again, if I had to deal with this strike/lockout nonsense first thing on a Monday morning, I doubt I'd look any less undead...

Sequence as I "understand" it so far:

1. About 60 maintenance workers call wildcat (illegal) strike over moves of shifts from day to night.

2. Said workers set up pickets.

3. Management figures (or claims to figure) that if drivers won't enforce fair collection, they sure as hell aren't likely to cross the pickets of their fellow union members, and management shuts down the system.

Man, at least when NYC Transit workers did it, there was like, weeks of buildup.

Last time around (last year?) we had weeks of buildup and then no strike. I like it better that way.

That makes sense. Plague on all their houses. My lungs say so too.
