House update: Monday

My aunt reports:

Today for lunch, Dan, John and I had hot dogs with top-cut buns.
Dan is working with the latch on Jen's bathroom door, which is a bit of a challenge because it's an old door. Also regrouted some of Jen's bathroom. Floor grout cracked because there was no central heating when the first grout was put in. Brian the Tile did remark upon this. Not big deals.
John has been helping me here and doing paperwork.
Will put in bulbs this week--even if you don't see them, which you won't because it's dark by the time you leave/come home from work. Bill's Garden Centre warns me there is a small window of opportunity with upcoming warm weather.

Jen and Rob,
You two are now the proud--with any luck--possessors of some spring plants. I just planted today because the ground in getting frozen and Bill's says the bulbs have to have some time in relatively warm weather.

Put in two clumps of narcissus (aka daffodils) by the hedge; a large clump of peach tulips in the front, plus some mix of a funny kind of scilla. Along the back fence, a clump of miniature yellow iris and one of multi-coloured hyacinths.

See what comes up. But for a total cost of $30 between the two of you, take a gamble.
