Nov. 1st, 2008 03:29 pmHalloween was excellent!
Jen bought and carved a pumpkin, as promised, and after a short-turning adventure with the TTC I made it home with the candy in time to shell out to most of the trick-or-treaters. We decorated with candles -- it wasn't nearly as impressive a display as some of our neighbours, but it looked pretty nice. We shut young Blue in my part of the house and his heartrending wails added considerably to our ambience.
It seemed like a slower year than usual, but there were some good costumes, including on tiny barely-walking kids (the Littlest Devil was particularly adorable). We had a set of Ghostbusters (who seemed very perplexed that everybody knew who they were -- oh, kids, you have no idea how HUGE the Ghostbusters were in my day), a Juno and a piece of red Lego (who by contrast were very excited when Jen guessed them both correctly), a '60s mod girl, a Stormtrooper, various vampires and Jedi and more.
life_on_queen and
pariah_ink and my parents showed up around 8:30, and we all went to dinner and then came back home for dessert and champagne and presents. I have been thoroughly spoiled, including finally joining the digital music revolution (well, I will have as soon as I've done some necessary maintenance on my desktop computer, but that is Another Story).
And now it's November. Crazy!
