I read the Margery Allingham I bought 2 weeks ago, partly because it was sitting on the floor looking reproachful. (Sweet Danger, published elsewhere as The Fear Sign.) Damn she's good, I tend to forget. I avoided her for years and years but finally discovered what I was missing. I am wondering if the edition I have is slightly abridged, I thought I remembered more interplay between Campion and Amanda but I may well be thinking of another book.

Hell if I know what that cover's supposed to be; I can tell you right now that I don't recall any falling-from-roofs episodes in the book. However mine is equally incomprehensible, it's a 3-colour job, almost like a woodcut, where the colours are black text, green trees (from above and to the side, like a Winnie-the-Pooh map) and a little red dot for an eye because the trees make a profile.

Oh and [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl, the exchange rate is $2.27 at the moment.
