Betcha didn't think my updates would be quite as minute-by-minute as this, didja? Nevertheless, 15 minutes to kill before my flight to Toronto so I'm taking advantage of the funky Bell kiosk.

I heart my taxi driver, first of all; I didn't get out of the apartment until 6:05 and he took me through the wilds of Ville St. Pierre to avoid the congested part of the autoroute and got me to Dorval in 20 minutes.

My bag is a bit top-heavy, I think I'm gonna have to repack. I've also got a bunch of stuff in my rucksack (big-ass knapsack is in a plastic bag in the hold of a plane by now) so I think the question for me is going to be not "what did I forget?" but rather "what did I bring that I'm never going to use?" (Let's hope the answer's not "sunscreen".) Well, if I find there's way too much I'll just have to ditch some of it.

Check-in area was full of Hasidim, which was kind of cool but disconcerting. I saw two sets of kids that I thought were twins, then started wondering if they were near-agemate siblings who were just dressed the same. The women all had this funky retro Mary Poppins look going, navy suits and dark stockings and many hats. I nearly brained a small child with my bag but her mother assured me it didn't matter.

Just going to check my email and head back to the gate...

Mom suggested you mail anything home that you don't want to carry, but also don't want to part with.

I have missed you. Devoured your travelogue already and hungry for more. Given that you are probably severely jet lagged I think we can all cut you some slack for a few more days.

You are sweet to have sent me a card. I'll let you know when it arrives. If there's a return address, I'll send you one back of a local scene, and when I go travelling you're at the top of the list.

You're back just in time, Robin. Like a spring shower, things will bloom again.
