Whatever shall we do for punchlines?

(I suspect this is one of the many cross-border issues that Canadians care passionately about and Americans have never heard of. Straw poll: how many of you, anywhere, know what I'm talking about when I say "softwood lumber dispute"? Before clicking the link, I mean.)

more linkage:

I DO work for the Forces of Evil!

all right, [livejournal.com profile] raithen and [livejournal.com profile] mindrobber, i'm working on it...

Not only do I know what you mean, I actually know that it has caused some onter-provincial conflict, and I know that my opinions about it are a little conflicted.

Now I'll go read the link.

I knew what you meant and I'm so full of the not caring that I may actually have to delete this post just to prove how apathetic I am :P

I already have a vague dislike for both big business and the US goverment so a soft lumber dispute between big trading partners is at most going to cause a minor trickle down effect that may eventually impact my life in some unforeseeably minor way... but it just doesn't have the same sort of viseral ummph as say stepping in a pile of dog-dirt. And I don't get outraged about that when it happens so, meh :)

Ps. I might be a tiny bit facetious above, but I never in a million years would use hyperbole to convey a message...
