Tuesday night movie
Sep. 3rd, 2003 01:57 pmFinally took myself to see La Grande Séduction last night. It was quite delightful in an Amélie/Full Monty kind of way. Feel-good Canadian comedies are so rare it's possible I am being kinder than it deserves, but I don't think I am. Really liked it. The fake cricket match had me in absolute hysterics.
Also bought Norton Antivirus for home computer. About time. And a copy of Organic Style, because I am now incapable of eating by myself and NOT reading. However, my sense of cash preservation kicked in just in time to stop me buying a cheap watch at the drugstore merely because all my watch batteries are dead (a little voice shrieked "How dare you consider spending twenty bucks on a watch you don't even like? A watch battery will cost a quarter of that!"). I made it to the movie on time despite this.
Nickels is a nasty little restaurant, isn't it? I mean, I know this, but every now and again I seem to have to go and rediscover it for myself.
Note to self: no more pad thai from the place up the street. Way too greasy.
