Very scattered today. But:
I got a raise! (They "reviewed and rationalized" our salaries. Some got more, others didn't. Apparently, they decided I was underpaid. Yaaaay!) It's retroactive to the 1st. Funny how it never seems to make THAT much difference to your paycheck... but will be quite helpful, I think, if I'm smart about it and don't spend it all in celebration.
Also:
I didn't mention, but I learned A TON on my vacation.
raithen is amazingly knowledgeable (about horses and other things). My feeling is if I want to start riding again much, I need to find an instructor who will take me back to the basics, because I am Ignorant.
Also, she and the animals were very patient with my occasionally leaving doors open, taking tack off in the wrong order, etc.
Also, foals! I got to admire at least 6 (in addition to Juno's foal-on-the-way). 3 very young Clydesdale/Thoroughbred crosses (results of an Unfortunate Incestuous Incident, but fortunately seeming none the worse for it) next door: Blaze, Isabel and Star, and 3 where we went on our first long trail ride -- Pat and Frank breed Morgans and had three this-year foals on the property: Roscoe (orphaned! :( but growing fine), Bulwinkle and Serendipity. Not to mention a number of yearlings and 2-year-olds, who were very keen on investigating us all. TOO ADORABLY CUTE. /mushy
And my pictures come back this afternoon!
Now, back to work.
