No, I'm not dead. Things got a little crazy-like towards the end of the week. But I had a good weekend (rented Chicago and Seabiscuit, ate dinner with Kelly and Jean, laundry, drugstore run, took out garbage and recycling without fear of freezing solid on the spot, got about a quarter of the way through totally reorganizing my kitchen, talked to L and
crankygrrl, mailed
raithen's chapters, read stuff), although I didn't get everything done that I wanted to (e.g., accounts, totally reorganize my kitchen, get to library, get to gym) and am now back at the grindstone.
Tell me, how is a girl supposed to work up any enthusiasm for her job when every task she attempts to complete is thwarted by the molasses-like pace of the project server as it undergoes its regularly scheduled backup? I ask, of course, in a spirit of pure inquiry.
My goals for this week:
At home:
Tackle the giant list of Oscar Contenders I Have Not Seen (1 down!)
Finish reorganizing (and cleaning) the kitchen
Do likewise for the living room, the bathroom, and the hall (suuuuuuuure)
Do accounts
At work:
Stay on top of the scary projects
...that'll do, that's all that can be expected of me really...
Anyway. This was one boring post, but I tired. Hope none of you are undergoing crises that I missed in my quick scan through my Friends page! Catch ya tomorrow maybe...
Oh. I meant to post about
drkeys's concert on Thursday, which was excellent (at least, I can vouch for the 1st half and I'm sure the 2nd half was equally good) and also featured many women wearing purple with red hats -- which
moonlightjoy and I figured out eventually... And I guess I'm posting about it now, so I'll just say that it struck me during the concert (actually while watching the faces they were all making, which were funny but mainly, I thought, an indication that they were really into the music) that really there may be some hope for humanity after all. I mean, yes, we have suicide bombers and torturers and genocides and a whole spectrum of horrid things. But we also have people whose idea of a good time is getting together to play piano, bass, drums, and tenor sax for other people. Which, it seems to me, is a Good Thing.
Pardon my incoherence. I'm off to the library. Good night!
