it's [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur's fault this dialogue just popped into my head... not that it's ever very far away...

Ramona: What is your line of work?
Russell: I'm a serial killer.
Ramona: A what?
Russell: A serial killer. It's a person who commits a series of apparently unmotivated murders based on personal compulsion. It's more of an American thing traditionally, but it doesn't have to be... there's this colonial attitude that if you're gonna make it you have to go down to California or something, but I'm gonna change all that. Look out!

Man, I love that movie.

hm. CBC is doing "how have you been frightened by your house?" (in a scary-movie kind of way). In this spirit...

My apartment has ghostly footsteps. Actually they're not ghostly at all, it's because my apartment (3A) was presumably carved off from 3, next door, and we share floorboards. When my neighbour walks through his apartment late at night, it sounds exactly as though there's someone in my apartment.

Five (!) years later, I've grown fairly accustomed to this. But it still freaks me out occasionally.

grrrr.

Etana said Blue Lagoon was a better control panel than the crappy one we had, but I have serious doubts.

Possibly it is just that AceofSpace hasn't seen fit to let me know how I'm supposed to configure Outlook Express to actually, you know, download my mail. All the documentation has to say on this subject is "there's this really great ActiveX control that will do it for you!" -- but, of course, on my machine it doesn't. (How it expects you to manage if you don't happen to use Outlook Express, I really have no idea.)

Fucksake.

(ETA: Apparently it was working after all. The error messages were a mere smokescreen. This should make me happy, but oddly enough it's making me feel balked. Baulked? Thwarted, anyway. Deprived of a righteous target for my wrath. Well never mind, I have my email accounts back.)

Something happened this weekend inside my head, and I'm not sure I can explain it very well, but I'll try.

This started off as another what-I-did-last-weekend post, which is all very well, and you can read that below, but it's not what I wanted to say. )

This is where this whole post got started. )

And then I got all confessional... head up to the top of the post again if you want the recap...

...and the rest of the weekend continues. )

Thanks for listening, and good night. No more epiphanies, nothing to see here.
