it's general_jinjur's fault this dialogue just popped into my head... not that it's ever very far away...

Ramona: What is your line of work?
Russell: I'm a serial killer.
Ramona: A what?
Russell: A serial killer. It's a person who commits a series of apparently unmotivated murders based on personal compulsion. It's more of an American thing traditionally, but it doesn't have to be... there's this colonial attitude that if you're gonna make it you have to go down to California or something, but I'm gonna change all that. Look out!
