(no subject)

So my only comment on the Iowa caucuses (which are popping up a lot on my Friends page today) is that you 'Muricans sure have a strange system for picking your leaders.

Of course, so do we, but it takes a lot less time. At least, it takes a lot less time when the incumbent leader hasn't decided to stick around and make everyone's life more irritating.

I should probably quit casting stones now.

This weekend I:

- had dinner with Karen, Yveta&Francois, Sian&Daniel, and Esther at a Slovakian restaurant in the Old Port, to which I must return
- ate brunch with Mary and vented about my drink-with-coworker on Wednesday night
- read the papers
- bought: 2 silver and coral rings (I think the second is coral, the girl in Folklore wasn't sure) because they were on sale and pretty; a new snow brush for my car; and a turntable for one of my kitchen cupboards. Money: easy come, easy go
- renewed my library subscription
- did a bunch of laundry
- went to emjayne and moonlightjoy's housewarming party, met a bunch of lovely people, ate a ton of food, stayed up until 4 a.m. and had a wonderful time
- cleaned (including vacuuming!) my bedroom
- took down the bedroom curtains I have hated for 5 years, mounted a new curtain rod and put up new curtains

Huh. Not bad. Go me!

...oooh, there's someone walking an Airedale and a greyhound in a coat on Prince Arthur! Too cute!
