crankygrrl insisted I had to hear Jack White's version of "Wayfaring Stranger"). Was thinking of something else entirely while listening to "I'm Going Home" when I noticed they were singing "la, sol, fa" a lot.
Hm, I thought. That sounds really familiar, in an I've-never-heard-this-song-before-but-that-sounds-familiar kind of way...
Aha! It's shape-note music! Don't even have to look it up -- I can tell!
