Merry
Who is your Middle Earth Man?

brought to you by Quizilla

"Your ideal M.E. companion would be Meriadoc Brandybuck. This fellow would stop at nothing to make sure you were safe and sound and that you were always happy. He would stick his neck out for you whenever he thought that you might be in trouble, and would think through things before doing anything brash."

I think they mean "rash". Although possibly not.

That's OK. I'm fond of Merry.

huh. . ..

-Pippin- Your ideal M.E. companion would be Peregrin Took. This carefree, upbeat hobbit would always do his best to make you smile and make you happy. He would dash in and save you from anything, no matter what the cost to him might be. He would stand by your decisions and his own. He would always be interested in you and what you have to say.

Rather a propos, I must say. And even though I like to at least THINK I could save myself, well, it is awfully nice to think of someone being there. As long as they listen to me most of the time. :D

Ooooh -- on that note, I heard a funny funny song on Richardson's Roundup (http://cbc.ca/roundup/) yesterday. It was a take off on Gloria Steinem's famous quip that a woman needs a husband like a fish needs a bicycle. It is called "Bicylce Fish" and performed by Zeke Hoskin, off the album CD, whatever! Lethal Reprieve. It basically plays on the idea that while a fish may not NEED a bicycle, per se, it would have a more interesting life and go farther if it had one. And it says that a bike could use a friend with gills if it gets stuck in deep water. A neat riff on the benefits of partnership, I thought! Plus, damn funny!
