Work week: Worked on beta. Avoided nervous breakdown, barely. Received projects for editing even though I don't know when I'm officially moving over. Did not communicate with anybody, except:

Tuesday: saw Van Helsing with JS. It was extremely silly. I still say it's cruel to make Kate Beckinsale fight vampires, werewolves, etc. in a corset and heels. If you're going to take the practical route and wear trousers, why not go all the way and ditch the corset and heels, too? Probably for the same reason Van Helsing never bothers to pick up any of his silver arrows after use (and wouldn't those be heavy to carry all over Europe?). Also, weren't there any trains in the 1880s? I thought so.

Actually, I kept hoping Irene Adler would show up, but I was disappointed.

Wednesday: saw [livejournal.com profile] cretkid and her students (once I found the right hotel). Ate. Drank. Played pool. We saw measurable improvement in our pool games, thank God.

Friday: Delivered beta. Didn't think we'd manage it but we did. Went for drink with team and some stray project managers we picked up along the way. Was complimented on my appearance for the last two days, proving yet again that I look my radiant best when sleep-deprived and stressed out of my mind and how is this fair, God? Saw Shrek 2. Loved it.

Saturday: collapsed in heap with delivery-induced inertia. Talked to [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl. Bought books. Failed yet again to find a copy of Busman's Honeymoon, which I swear I used to own but can't find (will ask J). Drank coffee. Read Unnatural Death. Started Passage. Was way late for Steve's going-away party but showed up in time for the singing and the dancing, also in time to help him tie a Polish doughnut to a bunch of helium balloons and set it free. Collapsed in heap again.

Sunday: read Passage. V.v. good but it's one of her sad ones (not quite as harrowing as Lincoln's Dreams or Doomsday Book, but definitely not the riotous glee of Bellwether or To Say Nothing of the Dog). Ordered Indian food. Called la famille at the cottage. Called [livejournal.com profile] stilldeepwater. Started Concordia application.

Monday: read more stuff. Collected dry-cleaning. Bought a hibiscus. Vacuumed my bedroom, washed my sheets, ignored the rest of the apartment. Met [livejournal.com profile] moonlightjoy at the AMC and saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which we adored (noted in passing that it has quite a few plot parallels with Shrek 2). Walked over to Maclean's on Peel, met some other LJers and friends, ate nachos, got indigestion, went home. Ignored dishes some more. Went to sleep kind of late (I think it was the nachos).

Tuesday: froze to death in apartment... well, no, not quite. I'm here. But it's horrid and cold and grey out. Oh well. 4-day week! Just need to do all the stuff I didn't manage to do last week and the week before...

Indigestion? aww! that sucks.. The tuna melt was pretty gross, but it didn't do anything damaging to my insides.

Didn't do your dishes? bad you!!!
