Scotland Day 1: Glasgow to Rowardennan
May. 28th, 2004 07:35 pmGuess what?
One year later... Scotland pictures!
Only from the 1st day (well, 1st full day) so far, because I'm having an interesting time resizing the little suckers and making sure they show up in the right order. I haven't put in any of the ones of
crankygrrl in her PJs from the night before because, well, I quite like having all my limbs attached, thank you. And I may take out some gratuitous sheep pictures, because it is actually possible to have too many.
However, that said, may I present: Cranky and ELL's Scottish Odyssey 2003, Day 1: Glasgow to Rowardennan. For those that aren't fully up to speed with the plot, this was the day we decided to hike seven miles along the banks of Loch Lomond with full packs and a hangover apiece. It's a great cure for jet lag.
Where it all started:

Our first taste of Scottish weather, in Balloch:

Kate is well prepared for Scottish weather:

Where we stopped for lunch. Spot the robin:

SHEEEEEEP! And Hielan' Coos.

Roses along the West Highland Way, with some backpacker chick in front of them:

Hmmmmm. High road...

...or low road?

Feckin' thistle.

Cranky's feet, and some mud.

Typical Loch Lomond vista.

And a rainbow, but there's still 2 miles to the hostel...

(No photos are extant of our exhausted carcases in the hostel or in the pub at the hotel. This is probably a good thing.)
