Just finished my weekly exercise in fiction, aka my timesheet.

I find it vaguely comforting to notice how fragmented my time really is -- my feeling of inefficiency is not necessarily inherent, it's imposed on me from the outside. ("OK, so I did half an hour on that project, and half an hour on that project but not all at once, and I talked to him for a good long time, and...")

Gia just arrived, her mother's hip operation went well.

The main excitement this morning has been Alex sending me her little screen sheep executable... we have both been watching our little sheep like zombies. Alex said "This is better than television!" Mine's napping at the bottom of the screen as I write.

I've found that the stuff I use my computer for are silly games and looking up junk on the net and silly little things such as this website http://www.funnyjunk.com/pages/top_45_oxymorons.htm ... its amazing how shiny things distract me sometimes :)

Fragmented time

I hate fragmented time most days because it requires time management. Some days I can multi-task, but most times I am just too linear to make use of 15 minutes between interviews to start transcribing notes, for instance.

I guess I have time management issues. Or I'm just inherently lazy.

I say go with "time management issues". There are courses for that. Plus, probably true.
