My mother tidied my room earlier this week. I admit it needed it, and I was even grateful (despite having told her specifically that I'd get to it). But it does make me feel six, and it also leads to episodes of roaming the house in my underwear demanding "Where are my pants? How do you lose a pair of pants?"

(The house is empty, BTW. My parents are at the cottage, where I should be headed right now if it weren't for the pants episode.)

Finally found them hanging up underneath a jacket. I never hang these pants up, hence the confusion. (They're fuzzy moss-coloured jeans with a lot of Lycra, which I appreciate these days since I seem to have swelled recently. [Pause to be amused by Joan Cusack in head.] Got to do something about this.)

To sum up: I need my apartment NOW. Had a strange dream this morning wherein I was moving in, only it wasn't my apartment, it was this giant cavernous dark space with a wall cutting the room in half. I'd been assured I could take it down, but when I opened the door in the middle of it, it led out to a corridor. I was quite distressed for a few minutes until I managed to remember that my apartment actually looks quite different.
