Oct. 24th, 2004 11:27 pmFailed to get hold of my landlord-to-be today. Got a wrong number and didn't feel like trying again until I'd eaten something, which turned out to be much, much later. I really have to settle down. Wrong number naturally had me spinning all kinds of paranoid fantasies in my head, but I'm not actually too worried. Will phone again tomorrow.
crankygrrl phoned this morning -- they're back in England and had a wonderful (and museum-packed) time. They'll be back Tuesday evening. Shame, I've kind of enjoyed impersonating her on YIM.
Dinner w/ the parents and the friend who's staying the night (not in my bed, but using my pillow and my blankets -- we don't have the most ordered household). He and his wife are just finishing up a house they built in the country, which sounds fantastic -- not excessively big, but made out of clever materials and well-designed, with spiffy things like underfloor radiant heating. (He said one of the things that pleases them is the fact that all the tradespeople they have working on the place keep commenting on how great it is -- they ought to know.) My parents are starting to sound all interested in moving out there (it's somewhere near Trenton). This concerns me, for 2 reasons: 1) I just moved back to Toronto, dammit!, 2) my dad has historically not done well in the country. He would like to be the sort of person who likes living in the country, but this only works well if he has a large circle of sympathique friends he can hang out with on a regular basis. We shall see.
And so to bed.
