was good.
Friday evening: drinks & dinner with
crankygrrl, Jen and
pariah_ink.
Saturday: mostly party prep, followed by not!birthday party (but there was cake anyway). I'm told this was my "Champagne Birthday," a concept I can only assume was dreamed up by people born during the last half of some month or other. And there was much food and drink and general rejoicing. And relatives. Damn fine party and I am pretty sure I talked to everyone. I crashed around 9:30 (my sleep patterns better change soon, let me tell you).
Sunday: Jet Fuel, breakfast, trip to Ikea with Jen and
pariah_ink. Surprisingly, not as hellish as I was expecting. I bought an impractical Christmas decoration and no furniture, but Jen bought a couch, so it evens out. Got home, changed into costume, shelled out candy for about 45 minutes (Cabbagetown has to be the busiest neighbourhood in Canada for Halloween, and most of the kids were small and in costume and adorable) until we ran out, then walked around checking out the neighbours' decorations (which were a lot more impressive than ours, mostly).
All in all, a good start to my year. And in a week, I'll be in my new apartment!
(ETA: Katherine just came in with home-made pecan shortbread cookies for tomorrow. Mmmmm...)
