Mark well this historic day! For it is the first time that I have brought my own lunch to this new job!

Mmm... lunch.

YAY ELL!!

I have been sort of packing lunches, kinda. But not with 100% success. I need to remedy this. Though an actual interest in food beyond "I should eat, but it will make my gut all gurgly" would be nice - though I am feeling MUCH better today. And sort of have a packed lunch. Rice pudding counts as lunch, right?

Of course rice pudding counts as lunch!

I have discovered that I will need to bring in cutlery -- this office is sadly lacking in same (although we have about 6,000 sugar packets, because the coffee shop downstairs sends up a case every time we order in coffee).

ah yes, I too had to bring in utensils. I had to drive to the store to scounge plastic my first time packing lunch.

Also, my employers are a pain, for the record.... They find it impossible to commit to final versions.

that keeps happening to one of our artists (the one who is going on a month's vacation and would really, really like to know that her work is final before she goes).

SO. TRUE.

The sitch is as follows: while I was away, they promised people the big project for Monday. Ergo, I need to have it done by FRIDAY. *Eep* But doable.

However, talking to Bossman2 about dissemination (will be in PDF format, emailed). They had mentionned sending out Fri afternoon so was on desks Mon AM, I recommended waiting till late Sun/early Mon so didn't get buried in in box.

Bossman 2 says "oh, good, then Bossman 1 and I can make final changes over weekend." Me, to self "MEEP." But I say nothing.

Till I realize that they can't edit PDF, which will take some time to set up properly with TOC etc. I say as much, and he says "Oh, so your weekend is no longer free."

Me, to self "AAAAAAAARGH." and "or we could be done Friday" But SAY to him:"let's try and be done on Friday, if at all possible -- I have school deadlines that I need the weekend for"

GAAAAAAAAAAAAH. I'll come in if I must, but honestly? Do NOT want to.

The only thing I enjoy about backpacker work is there is no overtime, unpaid or not.

Hope you don't have to work toooo much on the weekend!

Was it in a brown paper bag with your name neatly written on it? That's what my bagged lunches used to look like. I miss my mom's lunches...always with a treat inside!

My packed lunches are not exciting. In fact they follow a rigid formula that I've been using for 3-4 years now and that does not require me to think in the mornings (always a plus): Gladware container of leftovers, 2 fat-free mini yogurts, 2 pieces of fruit.

Maybe I should start giving myself treats. Also finding brown paper bags (although given the drizzle this morning, that could've got very ugly).

mmmm... lunch....

I like the idea of your yoghurts, Ell, that's a good idea.

I like to add some nuts, or a wagon wheel for my mid afternoon sugar craving ;-)

mmmm... wagon wheels...

Yeah, I need more snacks around here! By 5:30 last night I was STARVING. Luckily I went to Helen and John's, and Helen fed me, or I might have dropped dead in the middle of sofa shopping.
