It actually reminded me of something we studied in Women in the Third World in cegep... About this experimental birth control that you get implanted in your arm. It was said to be safe and harmless... but women who used it bled for an entire year before their hormones adjusted. not to mention the nausea and general nastiness. but it was toted as having passed vigorous testing, but this testing was actually done on women in poorer countries who got it done because they didn't want their husbands knowing they were using birth control. and when the wanted the thing to get taken out, the doctors were horrid to them..
