How cold is it? -23°C. So cold I wore contact lenses today instead of glasses. Thank goodness for my parka.

Yeah. I was outside yesterday. And the day before. All day. God bless MEC long underwear.

*wonders how contacts are warmer than glasses*

Pro:
You don't have to deal with the frames sucking heat from behind your ears.
You can cover your whole face except for eye-holes, like with a ski-mask or toque/scarf combo.
Your vision doesn't fog up when you come inside.

Con:
Nothing to cut the wind.
Contacts might increase eye-sucking effect of dry winter air.

*decides to invest in fur-lined wind goggles*

Wow, guess I'll stop complaining about our 'cold' weather.

my DOG didn't even want to go outside: did the 'do I have to put my feet down?' dance for about 2 minutes and skated back in doors.

LOATHE the cold

Least it won't be raining any more :)

Or at least I hope it won't be raining... and yes, parka's rock.

Walked down from Danforth yesterday and was so glad to ditch some of my outer layers and crawl into a nice warm bed afterwards. It sucks when your clothes get so cold they almost feel crunchy :S

Weirdly, not too bad. It's pretty still at the moment.

You guys win (as usual). Stay warm!

Mmmmm, fur-lined goggles...

#s 1 and 3 off the "pro" list trump EVERYTHING for me. Especially #1. It's not just behind my ears, it's my cheekbones that get all the heat sucked out of them and make me want to cry. Damn metal frames.

I just checked your weather. Yeah, if it's not freezing, you don't get to complain.

There's a guy that lives near me and has 3 small, quite cute spaniely/pekinesy dogs. They were out walking this morning, in coats. I was quite impressed, because they didn't even seem that cross about it.

Me, I'm with your dog. "You want me to go out in THAT? BAREFOOT? Are you NUTS?"

You're a stronger woman than I...

Mine have thick plastic frames so there's very little conduction, and since I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 the wind-break factor is very important to me (I gave up on contacts partly because if there's any breeze at all I blink like a mole without the protection of glasses).

Well, it did get down to 9 degrees last night. It was still in the teens when I posted, but it is like way colder up there.
