I have a table!

My parents went and picked it up in the van, then we had some dinner and hauled the thing upstairs. They left, taking my Christmas presents and laundry with them, and I put the table together, and it looks very nice and I am happy.

Then I collapsed 8 boxes, which made the space MUCH clearer, and put some other things away on the lower shelves of the bookcase that isn't completely full of books yet (only four shelves of non-fiction), and corralled three months' worth of receipts and bills and letters and put them in a basket To Deal With Later, and made an effort to cull the plastic bag infestation, and stuff. So if I'm hit by a bus today it won't be quite as bad. (Look, other people worry about clean underwear, OK?)

Also I got a card from moonlightjoy which made me happy. Thanks, sweetie!

Going to leave work early, go home, pack bag, head for parents' house. If I don't see you later, merry Christmas, everybody!

Hmm, was just thinking about your lack of furniture and what with upcoming new years and stuff... I know that we have a couple of semi-respectable living room type chairs sitting in our back room that you could borrow for a while/have if you wanted them simply for more seating?

We used to have 2 extra couches but they were given to one of my Mom's friends who gambled away her rent money and lost all her furniture to her landlord ... and if I wasn't serious it might be funnier...
