Friday evening: Connecting for Singles at the ROM with
stilldeepwater what? -- I regret missing most of the lecture (by the editor-in-chief of the Oxford Canadian Dictionary), 'cause the part I caught was a lot of fun. For those of you who've been waiting for the report with bated breath -- enh. Crowd mostly older than us and mostly female. Great food though. Then downtown to meet up with
crankygrrl,
gurudata,
scapersuse,
kanecool, K, and E, who'd been to see Elektra -- I think they mostly enjoyed it, although there was much mockery of Jennifer Garner's posture and gait. Beer, hot chocolate, home to bed.
Saturday: Gym, coffee, used bookstore with
crankygrrl. Choir concert (marked resemblance to an elementary-school end-of-term concert, but with taller participants). I thought we were much the best though I say it myself; we certainly had the most fun and sang in the most languages. Coffee and Portuguese pastries. Lost and masses of food with cousin J and S -- was supposed to be Alias as well but it turned out it hadn't taped. (I caught the last 20 minutes or so yesterday and can I just say, SpyDaddy? You suck. Once a lying manipulative asshole, always a lying manipulative asshole, IMO.) Then a bit of Star Wars (the original) -- we waited until they'd escaped from the Death Star and then went downstairs to the bar for a nightcap. Ended up meeting a friend of
monkeycommando and his roomie. Chat about the nature of the universe. Home to bed.
Sunday: sleep, laundry, brunch with Cranky, house-viewing, more laundry, dinner with parents and Granny, home to bed.
OK, very far from exciting, and I failed to cook anything, but I like my life.
(ETA: Also, I missed the Great Livejournal Outage of '05, continuing a long string of missed natural disasters. I'm never sure whether this should be a source of pride or indignation.)
