#several in a series:

I don't have to get my taxes in until the end of the month.

(Actually, since the guv'ment owes me money, I don't have to actually file them until whenever I feel like it. But I want the money.)

It's petty, but I'm reading all the Americans on my flist bewailing their lot and having a moment of "Neener!" (Don't worry, you can gloat back at me two weeks from now.)

Anyway, for those of you scrambling, hang in there!

I've had my receipts and slips all collected for months... does that count?

Actually, the U.S. tax deadline does serve as a really handy heads-up. ;)

psh.

I just mailed my extensions. I got four more months...
which pretty much means I'll do it the first week of May when I can get an appt. with an accountant.

You should confess your avarice in [livejournal.com profile] fess_up :)

Does it still count as avarice if I'm planning to throw it straight at my mountain of debt?

Hmmm. I think it might.

Good luck with the mountain!

Good for you!

I know, I have absolutely nothing to be smug about. Oh well. This weekend I will definitely get them done!

I've been neenering for a while at these people, though it's not very nice of me. :) I was done Jan. 15.

Wow, good for you! I am impressed. (I always have to wait for my T4s and things.)

Everyone is legally required to have their forms and crap (wage reports, bank interest, etc.) out to us by Jan. 1; usually they miss by a few days, which is why Jan. 15, but not too badly.

I was eager to find out how much money we were getting back! (Not as much as I'd hoped, so I was disappointed, but not bad - $800.)

(I know, free government loan. Due to a long story involving my husband changing jobs and stuff, I preferred to vastly over-withhold this year rather than risk owing a huge sum.)

oh me too. I know all the financial advisors say "Tell your employer if you're making contributions to X so they can reduce your taxes by Y!" But if I had that money every paycheck, I'd just go and spend it. ;)
