Worked from home yesterday (well, coffee shop, laundromat, and home) which was lovely and felt productive. Hopefully I can do that a bit more. Then went and scribbled on the walls of my house -- BECAUSE I CAN! well, actually because I was laying out my kitchen-to-be with masking tape and thought I'd just go ahead and mark the wall cabinets too. This meant I had to actually touch the walls and floor, but oh well. Everything will fit as I had hoped, which is good because J went to Swedish-for-hell yesterday and bought all the cabinets for both our kitchens (they have a deal that goes until the end of April).

Then got takeout for dinner (Greek salad and onion rings -- is that weird?), stopped by J's apartment, went on to the Fox to see Bride and Prejudice. Which, if you're in need of it, is sheer concentrated high-test elixir of happiness. Seriously. I loved it.

And now, to work! Why does nobody ever email me unless I am out of the office?

*hee* ya. Or you know, I could be less insecure - I figured something like that was the truth, but jumped to conclusions and acted silly and this is NOT a stellar example of me enacting the grace I seek (See yesterday's post....)

"Swedish for hell" made me cackle. Walking into there is trouble for me. I can't seem to leave without spending at least $30 more than I'd intended. I'll decide I can't live without new curtains and 300 tea candles.

It may be Swedish for "some assembly required". And yes -- those little things for $2 are the devil! The devil! "But they're so cheap! Let's get seven of them!" I still HAVE a bag of 100 tea lights. Well, maybe 85 by now. I adore things that come in attractive many-coloured multiples. (American Apparel is also dangerous for me.)

J walked in there and spent on the order of $6000. Buying a house brings retail therapy to a whole new level, apparently!

*gasp* (or actually, not. I know what these things cost....)

in one way, yes. In others it simply ends the whole concept :D.

hey, it WAS including taxes and it IS two kitchens. I think we're doing quite well so far!

but yeah. The deal means no interest, no payments for 6 months plus a gift card for 10% of what you spent (on whatever was eligible, which I think was most of it) before taxes. So we have a gift card for $490, which we fear will go all too quickly...

Nice! It meant I could do housework when I wasn't feeling so inspired. Or look at my kitchen plans, which is more what I actually did.

At least the stuff you buy from SfH usually has pretty good instructions for assembly and not badly photocopied pictographs like some companies use.

As for Bride and Prejudice, it's like getting slapped upside the head by a happy rainbow; everything is so bright and colorful.

true, true...

The singing threw me at first, but once I had processed Naveen Andrews getting down with his funky self, everything else was easy. ;)

Thanks! [livejournal.com profile] kerlin made the icon (and this one).

Also, I feel like I should be able to identify your icon. Yet I cannot.

(and the onion rings went scarily well with greek salad...)

that is my favorite icon in the universe. the generous and creative [livejournal.com profile] troyswann made it after we were laughing like fiends at some of the unintentional derivative communication in the stargate sg1 episode "thor's chariot".

and yum, now i want greek salad *again*.

and yeah, another sweet lovely horse icon. *sigh*
