Is it just that I order really obscure stuff?

This Is Wonderland Season 1 DVDs now listed for July 19. As opposed to May 3, which is what it was listed as before. Dammit.

Will attempt to compose my soul in patience, like I have a choice. But argh. At least I ordered it when it was $4 cheaper than it is now.

(Mind you, the Kirsty box set was shipped to me well before the delayed release date Amazon.ca had it at. So who knows.)

(Edit: Also, the library finally got The Grand Tour into their system, so that's on its way to me. Patience pays off. Eventually. Now if only they'd buy all the other stuff I was eyeing in Bakka the other day...)

another solution: just save all that money and angst and don't order box sets - obscure or otherwise. *nods*

All very well for you to say, Ms. "I've been watching the show from the beginning." Hmph.

anyway, I love my Kirsty box set, and would not part with it for worlds, so there you go.

true but I saw almost none of S2. And I just tend not to spend money on CDs and DVDs. It is always a bit of a deal when I do. Even books. I have computers to pay for and saddles to buy and an internal conscience voice which sounds an AWFUL lot like my mom ;D.

:D

I've been saving so much money on books by going nuts at the library, I figure I'm still ahead! But I do understand. Saturday was dangerous... had to tell myself "OK, STOP spending money NOW!"

speaking of saddles. Need. Bates. Soon. My ass can't take another Joey ride in the illfitting western saddle. I pity poor Joey this morning, cuz it was her back.

!!! Bakka!

OK. I was walking up Yonge the other day, past where the familiar and wonderful bookstore should be, and ... it was replaced.
With a store selling Asian fetish gear.
I was... erm. Upset? Yes, that's probably an appropriate word.

... as it seemst to not be dead, where is it now? I miss it so!

It's OK! It's OK! Luckily [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl found it before I knew it had left, so I was spared your trauma. It's now on Queen West, next to Come As You Are. Somewhere around Bathurst although I'm not sure of the exact cross street.

It's bigger than the old location, getting on for as cool as the old old location, and back on Queen West. Life is good. I think I'll be spending more time in that area -- that's the grotty, cool Queen West I remember!

Ahhh, the Queen West I so missed when Queen West became the Eaton Centre's outdoor annex.
I want to sing "home on the range", but replace all references to deer and antelope with "where free-range rats cavort in the streets, as mandated by the grotty requirements of the area!"

... but for some reason, it just won't rhyme.

I think it has potential, though

"Home, home on the range
Where the rats and the vermin all play
Where seldom does hap a Starbucks or a Gap
And the place gets more grotty all day!"

still doesn't quite do it.

Hmmm...

"Home, home on the range
Where the rats and the cockroaches play
Where seldom is heard a respectable word
And effluvium flows all day!"
