so... went to see Revenge of the Sith with crankygrrl.

Parts of it didn't suck.

But we just spent the commute downtown discussing all the ways it could have been really cool, and lamenting their absence. Sigh.

Note to self: a valuable writing exercise that will give you fodder for years, possibly decades, is "Write a scene for Episodes I through III that's actually cool."

GAH!!! Ever since I watched Ep II a days ago I've been trying not to re-write Anakin/Padme in a way that 1. isn't icky 2. makes sense.

Actually I was thinking of sponsoring a contest and throwing the exercise open. Surely the combined might of the Internets can come up with a decent trilogy?

also? I was reflecting the other day that part of the reason I don't write much these days is that one of my greatest spurs for writing has always been "Oh for God's sake, I can do better than that!" Whereas writing good stuff, like I mostly do these days, just makes me feel awed and inadequate. Maybe I need to read/watch more crap to ignite that spark of self-worth. ;)
